Government Announcement about a gradual return to school 10.05.2020

11 May 2020 (by admin)

Please click here for a letter to parents and carers in response to last night's announcement.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I expect that many of you, like me, watched the Prime Minister’s broadcast yesterday evening regarding the gradual reopening of schools for some children, starting with those in Y6, Y1 and Reception.

I am sure you have many questions, but at the moment we are not in a position to give any answers.  We have no more detail than the public at present and are waiting for detail and clarification which we hope to come during this week.  We will need to hear how the government expects social distancing to work in schools and what provision is required.

In the meantime, although some people have been encouraged to return to work, school remains open only for the groups of key workers and vulnerable children previously identified and we will continue to run a skeleton staff only.

We will be working with our Governors, the SNMAT and  the LA and will update you further when we have a clearer idea of the timeline and our plans for provision.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding,

 Stay safe

 Mrs Gabb
