We are pleased to announce the outcome following our OFSTED visit on 21st and 22nd May - we are a Good school.
Burntstump Seely CofE OFSTED Report May 2019.pdf We were thrilled with the overall judgement of GOOD and especially pleased with so many incredibly positive comments which include:
‘Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is promoted well both through the curriculum and through the example set by adults.’
‘Pupils are well behaved and attentive in class.’
‘Classrooms have a positive atmosphere for learning. Teachers plan and deliver interesting lessons that motivate pupils.’
‘Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are well supported. Pupils’ emotional well-being is cared for particularly effectively by the school’s support team.’
‘Pupils spoken to said that they feel safe in school and know that the staff will listen to them and act in their best interests.’
‘Pupils respond well to the school’s values of ‘Confidence, Hope, Understanding, Respect, Community, Honesty’ (CHURCH). As a result, Burntstump Seely is a happy place in which to learn and pupils develop a range of positive personal attributes.’
‘The pupils currently in Year 6 are well prepared for the next stage of their education.’
‘Pupils talk with enthusiasm about their work in subjects such as science, history and religious education. The skills pupils show in their art and design and in music highlight the good quality of learning in these areas of the curriculum.’
As a school we are not complacent and we are always trying to improve and as such we are very pleased that Ofsted also agreed with our school improvement priorities. We are very proud of our school and we will continue to strive to provide the best education we possibly can. We would like to thank our parents and children for their positive contribution during our inspection and continuing support of the school.
