Summer Term

Our teacher is Mrs Annable.

Mrs Acton-Wilson will sometimes teach the class as will Mr Thomas for sports.

Humanities

For the Summer Term, we are learning coasts. We will focus on the human and physical features of coasts and compare these to our own locality. We will study Grace Darling and Mary Anning; explore how these significant individuals impacted on what we know about fossils and the dangers of the sea.

Reading for Pleasure - Short stories/Non-Fiction books

This term, we will read story books with a focus on the Katie Morag series. 

Science

We will learn about animals including humans focusing on what is needed to survive and how we grown and change. Within this, we will explore lifecycles. 

PE days

Our PE dates this term are Tuesdays and Wednesdays   Please come to school in PE kit on both of those days.  Details of our PE kit can be found on the website. EARRINGS MUST BE REMOVED ON PE DAYS PLEASE.

Religious Education

• Stories Jesus Told– We will explore different parables and the message that they convey. 
• Creation– Who made the world?

Music

In music we will be learning about traditional British music and classical music that is used to tell stories.

Homework

The most important homework is to read at home to some.  We recommend this is done at least 3 times a week and note this down in our home school diaries.

Spellings and phonics will be sent home weekly and we would encourage you to support your child in learning these.
